10 iPhone 13 rumors from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo
How do you follow the world’s best-selling smartphone?
With something even better.
We all know iPhones will continue to get faster, now acclaimed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has set the entire Apple rumor machine on fire with a ten claims about iPhone 13, iPhone SE and beyond.
Smaller notch
The analyst claims iPhone 13 will have a smaller notch than the one we currently enjoy on Face ID iPhones, with a “punch hole” display for 2022.
Bigger batteries
Bigger batteries may not mean lengthier battery life – it may simply be required to support 5G.
120Hz
Kuo lends weight to recent claims that some models of iPhone may enjoy 120Hz displays, though he warns only the Pro models will receive this. Will use power-efficient LTPO tech.
5.4-inch
iPhone 13 will be available in a 5.4-inch mini form factor. There will be four models in the same screen sizes as the current range.
Camera
The Pro and Pro Max to carry upgraded ultra-wide camera, ranging between 5P (f/2.4) and fixed focus (FF) to 6P (f/1.8) and autofocus (AF).
SIM
The SIM may integrate with the motherboard, which suggests adoption of a virtual SIM moving forward. (Likley to prepare the space for fully sealed units, though Kuo doesn’t claim this).
5G
Still to use a Qualcomm 5G modem on iPhones.
Not USB-C
No USB-C or Touch ID.
iPhone SE
5G iPhone SE with a faster processor will appear in early 2022
Foldable
No, not yet, but Kuo predicts and 8-inch foldable iPhone in 2023.
