6+ useful items for Apple users discounted on Amazon
Amazon’s Black Friday sales grow longer each year. The sale has already begun with the company offering a range of deals on a huge collection of items which are being made available now.
What follows are around six discounted products that may solve niggling problems you’ve just not gotten around to resolving just yet, at discounts — and every time you buy you’ll be helping this little site out, as we get an affiliate commission fee.
Solve Wi-Fi dead zones: Option 1 – powerline ethernet
TP-Link has long been a name in Powerline Ethernet. This starter kit will let you bring any Wi-Fi dead zones in your home or office online. These are particularly useful if you want to get internet to the garden shed that has now become your remote working office, but also work if your router is in the living room but you need access in the basement. The starter kit is down $10 at $39.99, and will probably come in useful. But there is another option…
Solve Wi-Fi dead zones: Option 2 – Wi-Fi extender
Another handy gadget to get dead zones online is a Wi-Fi Extender. TP-Link may save the day once again here with this $20 discounted TP-Link AC1200. This should help boost internet coverage and can handle up to 25 devices. It also lets you plug directly into an Ethernet port for maximum bounce, is compatible with all Wi-Fi enabled devices and offers support for mesh networks. It costs $29.74.
What’s better than one USB Flash drive?
A 10-pack of USB Flash drives may seem a little like overkill, but hear me out. These things are useful. Not only do you get 10x8GB drives for less than $3/drive, but you can use them as OS X installation disks, for backup, document sharing and so on. These things are useful, but what’s good about these is the size – you can pick up 10 32GB drives for just $27.19.
These may not be the most exciting investment you’ve ever made, and you will need a hub or dongle to use them with USB-C Macs, but these drives are no less useful for that.

A good deal on an MFi chargers
Under ten dollars and you’ll pick up what’s claimed to be an approved ‘Made for iPhone’ charger and lightning cable. Except you get more than that – under this deal for just $9 you get two dinky chargers and two cables. That’s a fraction of the cost of the official Apple versions and means you should never run out of charging points in your home. You may also like these 6-foot long Lightning chargers, for $11.89 a pair (15% off).
Speaking of hubs
Amazon has a selection of deals on USB C hubs. I’ve randomly selected this one, because I like its inclusion of 4K HDMI, SD, TF, USB 3.0, and USB-C. It’s a little lightweight aluminum box with a slightly short cable, but is the kind of thing you can pack in your pack for travel or leave connected to all your desktop goodies in your home or office, and then plug your Mac or iPad in when you get home to access all the stuff. Hubs can be expensive, so $16.99 seemed like a reasonable price to me.
The hybrid thing
As the world of hybrid working develops, most people will discover two things: Working remotely is even better for your health and productivity when you aren’t doing it during a lockdown, and it’s really not enough to just poke an iPad at the in-office team during a meeting: you need a video camera and decent microphone. What we have here is a low-cost USB omnidirectional microphone you can use for conferences which may help ensure the people in the Zoom window on the big conferencing TV screen can hear what’s being said. The good thing? It only costs $27.29. It may form part of your hybrid meeting set up moving forward, and while you’ll almost certainly reinvest in this kit over time may not be such a bad place to start. Want to begin setting up the whole hybrid meeting kit? Amazon is also offering decent discounts on Samsung monitors and has a $30 haircut to turn this nuroum conference webcam into a $99 product.
So, there’s 6+ useful things that may help solve a couple of problems for you that are currently discounted on Amazon. Enjoy the season.
