Mosyle brings privileged access management to Mac enterprise

The tool can help limit the attack surface for any user.
If you’ve been witnessing the rapid expansion of Apple installations across the enterprise you may have picked up on the accompanying tide of increasingly complex security attacks as hackers attempt to gain access to admin systems.
Mosyle brings privileged access management tools
Getting access to enterprise admin rights is gold dust to attackers and among the greatest fears for businesses. To protect enterprise customers from this scourge, Mosyle has introduced Admin-On-Demand, which it calls the market’s first privileged access management system for macOS.
The move follows its introduction of web filtering security tools in ’21 and remote admin and support tools in summer that same year.
The company says its system is purpose-built with threat-prevention and usability in mind for businesses using Apple device. In conjunction with the new solution, Mosyle announced it now serves more than 10,000 business customers and helps manage millions of devices.
Scalable, simple to deploy and easy to use
“Privileged accounts are the pie-in-the-sky targets for hackers because once a device is compromised, they gain the ability to perform all actions available to an admin, such as adding or managing other users, accessing files, installing apps and more,” said Alcyr Araujo, founder and CEO at Mosyle.
“Protecting privileged accounts is especially challenging for SMBs due to limited budgets and lack of IT resources, and most solutions available on the market today are expensive and difficult to manage. Admin On-Demand is a perfect match for SMBs and enterprises because it’s scalable, simple to deploy, and easy to use.”
The protection is automated, which should help ease and accelerate deployment. The idea is that admin permissions are assigned on an as required basis, with actions taken logged and shared with IT teams. This helps create a virtual paper trail with which to identify security events. It also means admin rights can be shared across the organization as required, while maintaining security.
Mosyle Admin On-Demand is available today through Mosyle Fuse.

Hey Johnny – love your work, but Mosyle gave you a bum steer here. SAP pioneered this capability in their 2018 open source Privileges app (see it here: https://github.com/SAP/macOS-enterprise-privileges), which is a wonderful and identical capability to this “announcement” by Mosyle.
Hate to see these guys taking credit for pre-existing art that is well-known and loved in the industry.
