How to install Dropbox on Apple Silicon Macs
Dropbox has introduced an Apple Silicon-native version of its macOS application, but installation doesn’t require you to do anything, other than downloading the software.
What’s new in Dropbox?
Dropbox has published a stable version of the app that will work happily on Apple Silicon.
This is what the company has to say about this:
“Dropbox natively supports Mac computers with Apple silicon (M1), leveraging its improved performance and efficiency to run seamlessly on your Mac device. All users with Apple silicon devices will receive the native version of Dropbox automatically.”
The company began testing an Apple Silicon native version of its application this year, but development was, I believe, delayed by a decision to deprecate some macOS elements the company had relied on and replace them with another. (I think this also generated a delay in OneDrive becoming native on M-series Macs).
What you should find now is that Dropbox works in as integrated a way as iCloud, as they share some of the code.
No need to act
You don’t have to download anything if you have already installed the application. If you have done so, the native version of Dropbox should install automatically.

“If this doesn’t happen, you can click on the latest stable build and manually download the Offline Installer (Apple silicon) file,” the company said.
The version number of the new software is 143.4.4161. If you’ve not installed it yet you’ll be able to do so here.
