7 Reasons an LTE Apple Watch Changes the Game
I’ve written about this fairly frequently, but thought I’d quickly jot down a quick summary as to some of the reasons I think an LTE Apple Watch changes the game:
1.The iPod effect
With a pair of wireless headphones your Watch will immediately become all the music you need, anywhere. You can even download playlists for playback when you are in flight or otherwise not on the network. This is an iPod nano.
2.The fitness factor
Exercise anywhere. Gather complete activity, heart rate, all manner of other information. No need to strap an iPhone to your arm, and all your data gets uploaded to wherever you need it to be automatically. No smartphone in the locker room to worry about.
3.Pay anywhere
Got Apple Pay? Pay for almost anything, almost anywhere with an Apple Pay terminal.
4.Siri as you need it
Lost? Want to send a message? Write an email? The screen may be small, but Siri gets far more accurate in iOS 11 — so you can handle all your communications through your watch (though you’ll still want to use a device with a bigger display at times).
5.Make a call
“Hey Siri, call Sacha”. “Calling Sacha”.
6. Where am I?
Maps and directions in your ears.
7. Wider market
If someone wants an Apple-based product to act as a communications, payments and fitness tracking device there’s a chance an LTE Apple Watch will eventually become a lower cost alternative. Sure, we need to see Apple make it possible to set the device up without an iPhone (that’s the next critical step), but as sales climb and component costs fall, the Watch could become a very popular solution for many users. And don’t tell me Apple doesn’t cannibalise its own markets to grow them.
Dear reader, this is just to let you know that as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Add to this a projector feature and there’s your bigger screen you mentioned in item 4 and in 7 when not tethered to an iPhone (or perhaps a fold out screen when bigger foot print needed)!
I can’t see a pico projector .. yet… glasses seem more likely, or flexible touch displays you add as a band.
It will be great if Apple Watch can make iPhone “dual sim”
