How to switch off Apple Pay sign-up reminders
There’s been such a fuss made about this matter. We’ve even seen analysts claim it to be an anti-trust issue (which it isn’t). I’m talking about Apple Pay reminders, and how when you first configure your new iPhone you’ll see a red badge reminder appear on the icon of your Settings app if you don’t set Apple Pay up on your device.
What’s the problem?
It’s slightly annoying that Apple really truly madly deeply wants you to sign up for Apple Pay, but you can get rid of that annoying reminder easily enough.
Here’s how to do it:
- Tap Settings
- Choose Finish Setting up your iPhone (iPad)
- Choose Set Up Apple Pay
- Tap Cancel
Now Apple knows you’ve made a conscious decision not to use the feature, it will leave you alone.
That was easy, wasn’t it?
