Apple wants to tell you what iPhones and Apple Watch can do together
Apple is attempting to press home the message of how deeply integrated the iPhone and Apple Watch can be, publishing new pages to its website in an attempt to get reinforce the message.
‘Multiply their power’
Apple presumably thinks the messaging around the integration between iPhones and its smartwatch isn’t getting through strongly enough, hence the new pages. It describes some of the ways the devices can boost each other:
“Get directions on iPhone and a tap on your wrist when you need to turn. Check your heart rate on Apple Watch and track it over the last hour, day, month, or year on iPhone. When you put the two of them together, they add up to so much more,” it declares.
It then moves through a scrolling list of multiple examples of how the two devices dovetail, such as:
- Answer a call on the watch and then transfer it to the iPhone.
- Heart rate data on your watch delivers much more data on the smartphone.
- The joys of the Activity viewer on iPhone.
- Use the watch as a remote camera shutter on iPhone – you can even zoom in and out.
- Share ECG’s with your doctor.
- Tap and turn directions.
- Touch and hold the iPhone icon on Apple Watch in Control Center to make it chime and flash the torch.
And so on — there are dozens of ideas here.
