AirPods Pro 2, Apple AR headset for Q4, claims Kuo
As company stock drives to $358 or more, Apple rumor world this morning claims the company will introduce a new take on AirPods Pro 2 with a Beats-inspired design and the first generation of its AR headset in Q4 2022.
First up, AR headsets
Analyst Ming Chi-Kuo claims Apple’s first AR headset will with 300-400g and enter mass production in late Q4 2022, just in time for the holiday season. He says these will be able to “seamlessly switch between AR and VR to provide an innovative headset experience.” He thinks they will mainly aim at media consumption and gaming, which I remain unconvinced about.
The analyst says Apple is already developing the next-generation model, which will be lighter, have a new battery system and is scheduled for 2024.
The analyst thinks Apple hopes to replace the iPhone with these things in the next ten years.
And AirPods Pro 2
The first redesign since 2019, the new breed ‘AirPros will be in some way similar to Beats Fit Pro, the analyst claims. These will lose the short stem found in the current models, so they’ll look a lot cooler.
We’ve heard previous speculation the AirPod Prp 2 will host fitness tracking sensors and boast better device connectivity. You can also anticipate improved ear tips and noise cancellation tools.
