Apple gives developers Tech Talks to help them build apps
Apple has introduced a series of online sessions for developers, called Tech Talks. These will consist of over 100 sessions and the chance to have one-to-one sessions with the company’s engineers during this year’s session.
Making the developer connection
Tech Talks 2021 aims to become an opportunity for developers to speak with Apple experts, learn more about new technologies, ask questions, and receive one-on-one guidance.
There are two strands to Tech Talks: Sessions, which gather developers together around key topics; and Office Hours, which offer developers the chance to speak directly. The idea is to connect developers with Apple’s expert staff in a more personal way.
The talks begin October 25. Apple will let developers know the schedule of what is available every two weeks (November 1, 15, and 29) through its websit and also via the Apple Developer app.
What are Sessions?
Sessions are global, so you can speak to developers in Bengaluru, India; Cupertino, California; London; Mexico City; São Paulo; Seoul, South Korea; Shanghai; Singapore; Sydney; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Tokyo, depending on your time zone.

Sessions will include live presentations from Apple experts followed by a Q&A. The intention is to provide developers with in-depth technical details on integrating SwiftUI, App Clips, HealthKit, machine learning, augmented reality, accessibility features, and more.
“They can also explore a variety of other development topics, including adopting 5G, publishing in-app events on the App Store, getting the most out of the App Review process, and getting started with enterprise development,” Apple said.
Apple also wants to build its connection with developers and gather direct feedback from then regarding their experiences building and distributing apps on the App Store.
Some sessions are also available in Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish.
What are Office Hours?
Office hours provides developers with access to up to 1,500 hours of one-on-one meetings with Apple experts from across its App Review, Evangelism, App Store Connect, and Developer Technical Support teams.
Developers can request 30-minute sessions, choose a topic and ask questions about technology usage and adoption, refining their designs, resolving issues, and understanding guidelines and tools. Office hours also give them an opportunity to share feedback.
Who is this for?
Tech Talks 2021 sessions are free and open to current members of the Apple Developer Program and the Apple Developer Enterprise Program. Registration opens today, with new sessions and office hour appointments posted every two weeks. For information on the schedule and registration, visit developer.apple.com/tech-talks.
