Apple Music now offers live lyrics on the web
Apple’s Live Lyrics feature wowed us when it arrived in 2019. Something Spotify lacks, the unique feature lets you read (or sing) along with the lyrics of the songs you listen too. Now that feature is also available online using the web-based version of the service.
Apple Music now offers live lyrics online
Live Lyrics online are currently available on the Apple Music beta web page. In use, you’ll see the lyrics scroll down the page so you can keep them mentally synced to the song as it plays. What’s also unique about the service is that the lyrics are mostly generated by Apple, which means they may be far more accurate than those you find elsewhere.
How to use live lyrics in Apple Music online
You need to visit the beta web page for Apple Music and sign into your account. When you select a song just look at the top to find the song playing item and tap the lyrics icon you’ll find situated to its right. The lyrics will appear in a panel to the right of the screen.
Look closely at that panel and you’ll find a pair of opposing arrows as an icon, tap that to enter full screen player view. You’ll see the album art to the left and the lyrics to the right. And that’s it. It pretty much works like any other Apple Music interface.
Apple continues to improve Apple Music
Apple continues to improve Apple Music. Most recently it announced it now offers 100 million songs in its catalog, mostly in Dolby Atmos and Lossless quality, which is why the tracks sound so good. (Amazon matched this offer for Prime users recently). The company is expected to introduce a new Apple Music Classical service at some point this year. Apple tells us Shazam has 225m users identifying a billion tracks a month.
