‘Apple must’ be deeply annoyed at Google beating its brand
After years at the top, Apple’s brand appeal suddenly appears eclipsed by Google.
That seems a shame, considering Apple ships products while Google ships vapour ware products, results based on other people’s content, and advertising.
Might it be connected with the fact that Google News is the world’s main conduit for general news information these days, and Google controls the algorithms which decide the sites who get the traffic, and what sort of stories it will dispense that traffic (and their business), too?
If only the algorithms used in Google News were transparently available to check by members of the public and anti-trust officials eager to determine if they contained the kind of pro-Google, anti-competitive bias I’m proposing might be possible.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time the company has used search results to favour its own business above others, but in this case all I can do is ask the question: “Has Google gone thermonuclear?”
Dear reader, this is just to let you know that as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
BrandZ is all alone in its down rating of Apple’s brand. Sounds kind of fishy, eh?

Apple #1

The Score: 2 to 1. You lose BrandZ.
Or perhaps this company that did the survey is part of the WPP group which is responsible for google advertisements .
No chance of anti trust against Google for at least 2.5 years. Google was partly responsible for re-electing Obama ( see Bloomberg BusinessWeek article) and the DOJ will not lay a hand on Google.
Apple must… be sweating it out with $150 billion in reserve cash while Google has about $60 billion in the bank.
Apple must… be really suffering with a market cap of $520 billion to Google’s market cap of $370 billion.
Apple must… ignore all this BS going on about how Google is a superior and more valuable company than Apple.
