Apple opens second store in Latin America
Apple has opened its second retail store in South America, Apple Antara in Mexico City.
Somos Más Americanos
Shaped like a pavilion, Apple Antara is the first Apple Store of its kind in Latin America.
The store is equipped with huge sliding doors which open to create a 20-foot-wide entrance to welcome visitors in from the public plaza outside. Other design details include the thin profile metal roof, limestone-clad walls and curved corner glass panels.
Apple’s obligatory indoor trees also feature in the design, further occluding the division between the exterior and interior of the store. Apple has placed stone benches along the plaza on Boulevard Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.
The company confirmed it will host Today at Apple sessions, kicking off with world-class presenters across the opening weekend. Apple will also offer daily Creative Pro sessions on photography, music, art and design, coding, health and fitness and more. To sign up for Today at Apple sessions visit apple.com/mx/today. The store opens September 27.
