The show was the second original to debut on Apple’s platforms, debuting two months after the short-lived Planet of the Apps. (The latter a show that should have worked pushed into a format that just didn’t).
Here’s the scoops:
“Ahead of its big streaming launch later in the year, Apple has picked up the one original series it already has running.
“The tech giant has renewed Carpool Karaoke: The Series for a third season. The short-form show, based on the recurring Late Late Show With James Corden segment, will return to the Apple TV app. A date hasn’t been set, but the show has begun production on season three with an episode featuring the cast of Stranger Things.” — Hollywood Reporter.
“Carpool Karaoke” hasn’t driven off into the sunset quite yet.
“The CBS Television Studios-produced Apple series has been renewed for a third season, which has already started production and will feature an episode with the cast of “Stranger Things.” — Variety.
It is notable that the show received an Emmy in 2018 for “Outstanding Short Form Variety Series” and received another nomination in the same category in 2019.
You can watch all available episodes using Apple’s TV app or iTunes here.
