Apple ships iCloud for Windows 13 with ProRes support
Apple has released iCloud for Windows 13. If you use Windows and need access to iCloud, you can download the update from the Microsoft Store here.
What is iCloud for Windows?
iCloud for Windows lets you sync iCloud content to your Windows PC. That includes photos you store in iCloud, Contacts and Calendars. The tool also brings iCloud Drive into the Windows File Explorer, lets you access Mail and will sync your passcodes and bookmarks.
The idea is that Windows users who also rely on Apple products can sync everything up effectively.
What is in v.13?
What the release offers include:
- Participants of an iCloud Drive shared file or folder can add or remove people.
- Support for Apple ProRes videos and Apple ProRaw photos. This is of particular use to industry pros attempting to move large files between platforms, as it side steps technical challenges in hardware, such as USB-C cables.
How to open Pages documents on Windows in Word and Office
- Support for generating strong passwords via the iCloud Passwords app.
Works with iCloud Keychain?
Apple introduced its iCloud Keychain password manager app in 2021. Windows users can use to access iCloud Keychain passwords on Windows devices as well as Apple’s own. The tool also offers the same grade password generating tech made available within Safari.
The updated iCloud for Windows app also delivers a variety of security updates.
