Apple will announce its Q4 22 financial results October 27
Apple will announce its fourth fiscal quarter results on Thursday October 27, the company has confirmed.
The company hasn’t shared a view on results in the quarter, but it will benefit from new iPhone 14 family devices, Apple Watch and AirPods Pro sales. Investors and analysts will be watching with great interest to assess the resilience of the business during the current period of crisis.
Don’t be too surprised if Apple kicks against wisdom, it usually does
Given the many market reports claiming consumers have gravitated towards purchasing the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro models the company may see direct fiscal benefit.
We’ve also seen some reporting that claims interest in Apple’s services is also on the increase, which should also shore up the line, given the company makes a higher margin on those sales.
A recently disclosed survey from Rosenblatt Securities also suggests extensive consumer interest in these devices, even as Apple achieves new records in India and market gains in China.
In the rear view
Apple in the last quarter saw $83 billion in revenue for a $19.4 billion profit
Initial analyst reports have suggested an expectation that unit sales of the new iPhone remain in line with those sold last year, but the mix toward the high value devices may yet help Apple’s results.
At the same time, iPad and Mac sales fell slightly last quarter and its plausible to expect them to remain at around the same level, though the new M2 MacBook Air models will almost certainly have struck a chord in Back to School and device upgrade markets.
Another advantage may be that, as Digitimes tells us, new MacBook Pros are rolling off the production line, and that Apple is the only PC maker still “pulling in orders” as PC demand declines.
What’s the source?
But as economies collapse, prices rise and tensions mount, the question shouldn’t really be if Apple’s stellar growth maintains itself, but the extent to which in comparison to other tech firms it continues to hold the line. I think it will creak a little, but the line will hold.
I’m also curious concerning the timing and source of some of the more alarming reports into Apple’s business in recent years. We’ll learn more next month.
