Apple’s Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro goes on sale
Apple has made its previously announced Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro available to order, promising it will begin to reach customers next week. This is the keyboard that includes a trackpad designed to work tightly with iPad Pro’s running iPadOS 13.4 or later.
Magic Keyboard – now with trackpad
The Magic Keyboard attaches magnetically to iPad Pro with a floating cantilevered design for smooth viewing angle adjustments up to 130 degrees.
It provides a full-size keyboard with backlit keys and a scissor mechanism that delivers 1mm travel, offering a comfortable and responsive typing experience.
An iPad experience
The trackpad aims to complement how you use an iPad, promising fluid navigation, easy cursor control, and precise adjustments.

It has also been developed to boost how you actually use an iPad, rather than to emulate the Mac experience. As users move their finger across the built-in trackpad, the pointer elegantly transforms to highlight user interface elements. Multi-Touch gestures on the trackpad make it fast and easy to navigate the entire system without users ever having to lift their hand.
What about USB-C?
The keyboard offers USB-C pass-through charging, which means you can daisy chain your USB-C devices, or connect up happily to a hub so you can drive a monitor, draw power and more.
Now with added security
When Magic Keyboard is attached and closed, the iPad Pro microphones are disconnected, preventing any audio data from being compromised. The new Magic Keyboard is designed to work with the new iPad Pro, and is also compatible with the previous generation iPad Pros.
Available to order now
The new Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is available to order today on apple.com and in the Apple Store app in more than 30 countries and regions, including the US.
It costs $299 (US) for the 11-inch iPad Pro and $349 (US) for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with layouts for over 30 languages, including simplified Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.
