Eve introduces incredibly cool Eve Flare light, with Thread support
Eve Systems has introduced Eve Flare, a powerful battery powered color changing lamp for use inside and outside the home first discussed at IFA. The veteran smart device company also introduced the Eve Shutter Switch, an intelligent shutter that responds to sun position.
Eve Flare – Beautiful Light Moods For Any Space, Inside or Out
Eve Flare is a highly durable light that cycles through a range of colors, and lets users select and mix their own color combination.
The light is wirelessly charged and provides six hours of light in between each charge. I’m not joking about durability, the system has IP65 water resistance and is equipped with a handle which you can also use to hang the device.
The idea is that the light is just as useful in the house as outdoors, and the advantage is that because it is a Home-compatible (and Thread compatible) system, you can control it with your voice. Just use the app or talk to Siri whenever the mood strikes. Or set a timer, automation, or scene, and have Eve Flare come to life by itself, courtesy of your home hub.
Eve Flare costs $99.95.
And the Eve Shutter switch
Introduced at IFA 2022, the Eve Shutter Switch is also Thread-enabled and boasts an innovative Adaptive Shading function that seamlessly aligns the shutter with the sun’s position. It costs $99.95.
The solution schedules to automate your roller shutter while the Eve app’s Adaptive Shading function automatically darkens rooms during the day according to the position of the sun.
As a router node, Eve Shutter Switch relays other Thread accessories’ data packets and enhances the stability and reach of your smart home. Thread is part of Matter – the smart home standard of the future (which seems to be taking time to reach its proper status). Thread-enabled Eve Shutter Switch and Eve Flare will receive free Matter firmware updates in the future.
