How to ask Siri silently (the tip that no one knows)
I’ll keep this quite simple:
You know that thing when you need to ask Siri a question and you don’t want to speak it but want to type it instead?
It’s easy.
On an iPad, just tap Command-Space, or on iPhone just swipe down from the middle of the Home screen.
You’ll see the search field. Type your query and scroll down the options that you will see. You may even find the answer you were looking for there, good news!
But if you really want Siri to let you know the answer: Keep scrolling….
Right near the bottom of the collection of search spheres, you’ll find that your can:
- Search Web.
- Search App Store.
- Search Maps.
- … AND SEARCH SIRI…
Tap this to make a silent Siri search.
Problem? Siri will talk back — but you can choose the web option if silence is important to you.
It astonishes me so few know this one.
