How to automate Light and Dark modes on iPhone
You have probably already tried Dark Mode; you may have returned to using Light mode, but were you aware that you can automate the transition between both modes on your iPhone?)
How to automate between light and dark modes on iPhone
If you’ve already used Dark Mode you’ll know this is controlled in Settings>Display & Brightness, but you may not have come across how to automate the transition so your phone is dark at night and bright in daylight.
Here’s how it’s done.
- Open Settings>Display & Brightness.
- Toggle the Automatic switch you see under Appearance
- Then, in Options, choose Light Until Sunset or Dark Until Sunrise – the option will change depending on if you are in Light or Dark mode when accessing the Setting.
Now your device will transition between modes automatically. You can also set Custom modes in Options where you can define when you want your chosen mode to show.
One more thing:
If you are using your phone at Sunset or sunrise the change won’t take place. It will take place next time you stop using your device.
