How to create a playlist of your top songs in Apple Music
Apple Music has a little-known tool that lets you easily build a playlist of the songs you’ve played the most across the last year. It also lets you explore which songs you played most often in all previous years.
Apple Music’s Replay Mix
The tool is called the Replay Mix and is made available through your browser.
Apple describes this in the following way:
“With Apple Music Replay, you can relive the music that defined your year. Get insights into your most played artists and albums. And get a playlist with your top songs of the year — and one for every year that you’re subscribed to Apple Music.”
Here’s how to use it:
- Visit replay.music.apple.com.
- You’ll need to sign in using your iCloud account.
- You will then see a button marked Get Your Replay Mix.
- Tap this and Apple Music will build you a list of all the tracks you played most in the last year. You can now save and share this playlist.
The playlist is updated every week based on your listening history.
Kick it around and you’ll find it offers details concerning how many hours of music you’ve listened to, and lets you see how many hours you’ve spent listening to sounds from particular albums or artists.

If there’s one thing missing from digital music services like Apple Music, it’s the ability to quickly learn more about a song or album without leaving the Music app. With physical media, these sorts of details were relatively easy to find via liner notes and cover booklets, but the information has never been integrated well into the Apple Music service
