How to share Apple Music lyrics in iMessage, Instagram
Apple’s building yet another neat tweak to enhance Apple Music, this time with a new tool that lets you share Apple Music lyrics via iMessage and Instagram, staring in iOS 14.5.
Here’s how it works
MacStories editor-in-chief Federico Viticci spotted the new feature. It lets you share up to five lines of a song’s lyrics using Instagram’s Stories or iMessage. When you do, you’ll also share a link to the Apple Music track listing.
So, how do you use it?
- Open Apple Music, play a track and access the song lyrics (if available).
- Long-press a line in the lyrics to share.
You can also select multiple lines of text from the special share lyrics screen and create longer cards for Instagram/iMessage. (Up to 5 lines.) This is really well done. pic.twitter.com/Z8VFOpe6iZ

- The Share menu appears.
- This lets you select up to five lines of the song, and also lets you share the lyrics via AirDrop, Messages or Instagram using the Share pane.
Interestingly, there’s also a More button for this feature, which means it’s possible other apps and services will end up supporting it.
What else is there in iOS 14.5? Quite a lot, as you’ll find here – you can even use an Apple Watch to unlock your iPhone.
