Huawei’s hassles gift China to Apple’s iPhone 13
Apple’s business continues to illustrate the advantages of constructive engagement in international trade, as the demise of Huawei buys the iPhone significant market share, claims Counterpoint.
Huawei’s hassles gift China to iPhone
In a press release titled, iPhone 13 series drives success for Apple in China, the analysts observe that Apple has remained the top smartphone brand in terms of sales units and revenue in China for six consecutive weeks.
This followed strong signals of success when iPhone 13 became the top brand in China, and Apple has maintained this position consistently ever since, though intermittently conceding position to China’s vivo.
iPhone 13 sales exceed those of its predecessors
The iPhone 13 has captured Chinese consumers, who appreciate that it’s slightly less expensive than iPhone 12 was and like its new camera features. In China, consumers are purchasing the base iPhone 13, followed by iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro.
Apple has taken the top spot in sales in China and has maintained the number 1 position excluding the brief period during Singles Day. This success is also followed by the strong performance of the iPhone 12, contributing to an increase in Apple’s overall sales.
What Counterpoint said
Research Director Tom Kang said: “Apple’s only true competitor in China till now was Huawei and it is now facing serious production issues due to the US sanctions. Apple is likely to continue its high performance in China, until other competitors catch up in both brand and quality.”
With an eye to expanding share, Apple is also working to increase its manufacturing capacity as iPhone becomes the world’s most popular 5G smartphone. This drove the company to raise component orders in early December,
The company is expected to introduce its third-generation iPhone SE with 5G in spring, possibly as soon as March, reports claim.
