Jaguar Land Rover takes on Uber in ride-sharing wars
Watch out, Uber, there’s a new ride-sharing service hitting the road. Called Havn, it comes from Jaguar Land Rover’s venture capital and mobility services arm, InMotion Ventures and Fleetonomy.
Havn: There’s an app for that
Unlike Uber, Havn is a premium chauffeur service that uses a fleet of fully electric Jaguar I-PACE vehicles that is launching first in London, UK.
There’s several ways these journeys put passengers in the driving seat, as it were. Not only do you get TV, but you get smartphone charging facilities and more.
The service makes use of Fleetonomy’s AI-based mobility operations platform, a solution it provides to automakers, shared mobility operators and car rental companies who want to develop their own mobility services.
Lars Klawitter, Managing Director Studio 107 at InMotion Ventures said:
“Fleetonomy’s AI-based platform shows great promise in providing new mobility platforms that fit within the Jaguar Land Rover pedigree of premium products and services.”
What Fleetonomy brings…
Some of Fleetonomy’s capabilities include accurate schedule planning, synchronizing optimal charging times and locations, guaranteeing that vehicles are positioned optimally according to demand, and ensuring that trips are completed smoothly without interruptions.
“As automakers take further steps forward into providing smart mobility services, the need for advanced platforms that include not just fleet and asset management, but also the ability to launch and scale the service, has increased substantially,” said Fleetonomy Co-Founder and CTO, Lior Gerenstein.
