Jamf to fund new Apple security and enterprise startups
Jamf has launched the Jamf Ventures Investment Fund, which will invest in technology and cybersecurity companies that support the Apple ecosystem.
Investing in tech and security for Apple ecosystem
The idea behind this to build and support value-creating partnerships with innovative technology companies that accelerate growth, typically within the healthcare, education, retail or hospitality industries. Jamf says it will invest $50 million over the next five years in companies through Jamf Ventures.
Along with access to capital, the fund will also provide supported tech projects with industry expertise, a professional network and channels to portfolio companies.
Jamf Ventures portfolio companies will also be able to leverage unique access to Jamf’s extensive APIs, technologies, and IT and security research and expertise, along with increased brand awareness and co-marketing opportunities.

Investing in SwiftConnect
Among the first cohort of supported companies Jamf Ventures announced funding SwiftConnect. The latter firm is a cloud platform provide.
SwiftConnect manages and connects disparate access control systems across owner and enterprise portfolios with mobile credential platforms, user directories and other systems that influence physical access requirements. SwiftConnect also links its customers to a virtual badge on their mobile device.

The move to invest in security is particularly interesting as the context surrounding security across all Apple products becomes increasingly complicated as nation state hackers seek out soft targets.
