M2 Pro MacBooks, Mac mini now set for 2023, says Gurman
Apple will next introduce new Macs in 2023, the latest speculation claims. That’s when we are now told to anticipate debut of new MacBook Pro M2 Pro and Mac mini computers.
Don’t hold your breath for Christmas
There had been speculation Apple would introduce these machines this side of Christmas, but the author of some of that thought now says they won’t arrive until Q1 2023. He had originally anticipated their introduction this fall.
Anticipated hardware includes a new MacBook Pro M2 Pro in 14- and 16-inch configurations.
This would follow February/March software patches for Macs, iPads, and iPhones. The Mac mini will allegedly feature the same M2 chip you currently find inside the M2 MacBook Air, but I would assume it would be just as impressive as the little Mac mini M1 was when used alongside M1 ‘Airs. The M1 Mac mini is a fantastic little Mac.
There is one more Mac in the frame, Gurman claims.
Inventing the people verse
He says the first Apple Silicon Mac Pro should appear in 2023 and will be the most powerful Mac money can buy, almost certainly delivering the kind of high end horsepower people out here in the ‘peopleverse’ need to create complex graphics experiences. Gurman does speculate the M-series Mac Pro may not be introduced until Apple makes the leap to 3nm chips, as it is expected to at some point late 2023.
Apple has poured a little cold water on speculation of new Macs this year, with CFO Luca Maestri telling us to expect slow growth and Tim Cook hinting that Apple’s product range is now set for December.
Gurman now argues Apple will introduce these new Macs at a March event. At the same time, a second leaker @LeaksApplePro believes Apple has scheduled a launch event in January.
Might both leaks be correct?
We shall see.
Freeform should be here for Christmas
In other news, iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2 and macOS Ventura 13.1 are all expected to arrive in December, and will introduce Apple’s exciting Freeform collaboration application. It may also introduce new Sleep widgets for use on the iPhone/iPad Lock Screen.
