MacStadium ships new tool for smaller Mac DevOps teams
MacStadium is offering macOS virtualization and orchestration tools inside its new Orka Small Teams edition product, which means DevOps teams can get to using the leading enterprise-grade macOS virtualization and orchestration tool as and when they need to do so in their workflow.
Orka Small Teams for Mac DevOps teams
“Not all organizations need the same level of hardware customization, and we have designed best practice configurations to deliver the ideal fit for teams of various sizes,” said Greg McGraw, MacStadium co-founder and CEO.
“We’re excited to introduce an automated provisioning solution of our Orka platform so MacDevOps teams can begin using our industry-leading Orka software instantly on a standardized hardware setup.”
What it’s about
Orka Small Teams edition was developed as an enterprise-level solution to meet the needs of small to midsize customers with macOS development workflows needing to quickly automate key workflows.
The idea is that MacDevOps teams can use orchestration tech such as Kubernetes on macOS via the cloud. Teams can extend their CI/CD pipeline by connecting Orka platform to the most popular DevOps tools and easily orchestrate workloads using Orka Platform’s RESTful API.
This should help streamline operations and maximize their resources, automation is all the more critical for them to remain competitive.
Orka Small Teams edition costs $499/month that includes the key components necessary in MacDevOps automation.
Apple and the enterprise
MacStadium is a leading light in the new wave of Apple in the enterprise service providers. It introduced Orka Workspace at Jamf’s JNUC event in 2022, and the decision to widen its availability franchise will help it reach additional cohorts of developer.
When we spoke earlier this year, MacStadium CTO, Chris Chapman waxed lyrical on Apple’s growing status in enterprise tech:
“They are becoming the de facto standard for laptop, desktop, and phone and you’re really starting to see it become pervasive. It starts with the consumer but has grown to pervade business and enterprises everywhere,” he said.
