Otterbox hits market with two-way MagSafe charger
OtterBox has introduced a unique first to market product for iPhones equipped with MagSafe – a two-way wireless power bank that simply clings to the back of your iPhone.
Meet Wireless Power Bank for MagSafe
The company’s all-new Wireless Power Bank for MagSafe provides two-sided charging capability.
That means it can wirelessly output power into an iPhone 12 or 13 and will also let you pop your power bank onto a wireless charger when you want to charge it up – or charge up your AirPods.
The accessory also features a dual direction USB-C port, so you can use this as a standalone power bank. It has a two-sided magnet inside, so you can attach the power bank to the phone and to a mount.
There are a variety of additional features.
As you’d expect from Otterbox, the case you get with the Power Bank is rugged and highly durable. However, the bank will also work with other MagSafe cases, perhaps including the Apple case you may already have.

What power do you get?
The slim power bank pushes out power at 7.5W and is available in white or black with either a 3k or 5k mAh battery inside.
That means charging is only about as fast as you get from any Qi-enabled device, rather than the 15W charge. Charging your iPhone to full capacity will take around 4-5 hours, but so long as you have the pack connected to your device your iPhone battery should last a full day.
The 5k mAh version should charge an iPhone 13 Pro Max once with around half a charge to spare, while the lower capacity battery will probably give you around 80% charge. The cost? The 3k mAh pack costs $49.95, while the 5k mAh model will set you back $69.95. Look at the device and you’ll see LED power indicators.
You can pick them up at the Otterbox site, and you’ll probably find them on Amazon later down the line.
