Short tip: Tell people you can’t text because: Driving
Apple’s Do Not Disturb While Driving setting is invaluable. Every driver should make sure it is enabled, but how can you let people know you’re not ignoring them when you don’t respond to their text message fast?
Just tell them
Do Not Disturb While Driving has a handy little setting that lets you create and automatically send a message that tells people trying to contact you that you are unable to get into a message chat because you’re driving.
- You enable this in Settings>Do Not Disturb
- At the bottom of the page you’ll find the Auto-Reply controls
- Set Auto-Reply To to: Recents
And then create your chosen message in the Auto-Reply box – you can use Apple’s standard message, or select and delete that existing text and create your own.
