The iPhone 14 leaks continue as release date looms
Apple’s secret-keepers are always anxious to protect the company’s confidences, but as new devices loomsome secrets always begin to slip through the net. Now it looks as if (at least one) iPhone 14 model number has been exposed.
Introducing A2882
Filling the space conceivably vacated by the Eurasian regulators as Apple withdraws from Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, the Indian Consumer Affairs authority seems to have leaked a model number which may represent the incoming device.
MySmartPrice has spotted that the Bureau of Indian Standards is now listing a brand new iPhone model number. It already lists numbers for iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, but a new model number has appeared on that list.
The news comes as analysts predict Apple will begin producing iPhones in India more rapidly than before as it seeks to ramp-up manufacturing capacity for the devices. Signs are that the company really anticipates strong sales once again in the next 12 months.
Now we got your number
It seems plausible to anticipate India may make the base iPhone 14 device which is expected to use the same processor as the existing model, tweaked for better battery life and performance.
It is possible the Pro models will follow that release, and these will field a brand new A-series chip, much improved cameras and more.

Apple is also thought to have frozen development of iOS 16 as it prepares to introduce the new devices perhaps as soon as September 7.
Meanwhile, management are probably hoping a recent survey that said almost half of Android users are willing to switch to iPhone for better privacy and security protection is correct.
Though for reasons best known to whoever, Apple appears determined to reduce the value of its platforms by infesting them with advertising.
