Watch: Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro launch videos
Apple introduced new Macs on October 18. When it did it also introduced a sea change in what to expect from the platform, which now becomes the world’s leading notebook brand. Since the event the company has published numerous videos explaining its new releases, which you can watch here.
What Apple did
The highlight of the event is the company’s M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. These marked one full year since the company began its transition to the new processors, and now power Apple’s amazing new MacBook Pros.
An astounding introduction
The days when Mac users needed to evangelize for their chosen computing platform may be over.
These new M1 Max and M1 Pro Macs deliver hugely significant performance and power gains, along with cutting-edge tech such as Pro Res displays. Apple recited a long laundry list of comparative specifications to underline just what an improvement it has delivered in these Macs.
For me, this was the most significant Mac announcement for decades. The following video is called “Supercharged for pros” and is the company’s attempt to explain the benefits of these new Macs.

Unleashed
The keynote was branded ‘Unleashed’, a reference to the major leap in power and performance Apple achieved with its new Macs. You can watch the entire keynote below.

Making its announcement, Apple also showed us a neat little video/music track featuring a song made using all 45-years of Apple songs. It’s a neat little video that shows how geeky kids in a garage were at one time able to change the world. Perhaps that will happen again.

All about the pro apps
I talked about the promise of Apple’s new Macs here and here. They deliver real power and performance benefits that should enable any professional user to get more done faster, while less pro users will simply aspire to one of these super seeming machines.
Apple has been quietly engaging with pro users and published this video to give you some sense of what these new machines can accomplish.
