Watch: Apple’s Tim Cook talks iPad mini, iPhone 13 and more
Apple CEO Tim Cook took 15-minutes to discuss everything his company introduced during its ‘California Streaming’ event with YouTuber iJustine. It’s an engaging interview which may be worth watching.
What Tim Cook says
The wide-ranging discussion covers lots of bases. Cook did of course discuss the iPad mini and iPhone 13 but spent much of this time discussing the virtues of Apple Fitness+. Here are some highlights of the conversation.
On iPhone 13
“This is like having a Hollywood rig in your pocket, it’s mind-blowing,” Cook explains, referring to Cinematic Mode.
On iPad mini
“People really love the power of having this incredible device in the palm of their hand, having the full iPad experience.” Says people are using these “ultraportable” devices in medical, education, photography and film.”
On the Watch
“The Watch motivated me to do what I thought I was doing before.” Cook said. He means, of course, that once he began using one for fitness he began gathering data which showed he hadn’t been reaching the targets he thought he’d met.
On Fitness+
“It’s all about the people that we have in Fitness+, the trainers are unbelievable and the integration is amazing in terms of keeping you motivated through the workout. Cook also said he, “has a rule of not having favorites,” but will use the new meditation workouts.
On gameification
“I love the digital badges you can earn [in Fitness+]” he says.
On AR
Cook remains “so excited” about AR. He believes it will turn out to be a profound technology that in future we will not understand how we lived without it. He sees opportunities in collaboration and beyond and says he’s the number one fan of AR.
On retail stores
Enthusiastic about using Apple’s retail stores as hubs for learning and creative teaching, particularly around underrepresented groups.
