Apple CEO Tim Cook appeared alongside SAP CEO Bill McDermott at the enterprise company’s annual conference, where the two firms announced a range of initiatives that push Apple ever more deeply into enterprise IT.
The future enterprise
I’ve written in more detail on what the two men shared at the event here, but what it comes down to is a solution that combines machine intelligence with augmented devices on the highly secure Apple systems you already have with you.
Cook and the SAP boss also discussed the essential nature of security in a connected age, with McDermott applauding the Apple leader’s principled stance on these matters.

‘This is surveillance’
Cook has been an outspoken critic of the emerging surveillance capitalist state.
His criticism has even prodded some other big tech firms to pay lip service to the need for privacy — but we’ll wait to see how deep those promises really go.
Apple and SAP seem to understand that privacy and security are essential needs for enterprise companies doing business, however.
